Medicare Enhanced Primary Care Plan
The Enhanced Primary Care Plan may be available to you to assist in meeting your costs. This is a Medicare initiative for children and adults who have chronic problems (which is a condition extending beyond 16 weeks). If your child has a chronic speech or language problem and is under the care of two allied health professionals (such as a speech pathologist, occupational therapist or paediatrician) they may be eligible. The Enhanced Primary Care Plan is developed and managed by your child’s General Practitioner. The benefit is limited to five allied health services per year and cannot be used in conjunction with private healthcare benefits.
