Lindamood-Bell Programs
At the Speech Language & Literacy Clinic, various programs are used in an integrated manner to help promote your child’s overall literacy development.
Lindamood-Bell Phoneme Sequencing Program (LiPS)
LiPS is a program which facilitates a child’s phonological skills. It teaches children to listen, feel and recognise speech sounds, allowing them to spell and read more effectively through sounding out.
Seeing Stars Program
The Seeing Stars Program develops a child’s letter-sound recognition, phonological awareness and spelling abilities. The program helps a child to develop symbol imagery (integrating imagery and language), which is required for both reading and spelling. Children learn to recognise letters from single syllables through to multi-syllables, refine their phonological awareness, memorise sightwords and learn to read and spell accurately.
Visualising and Verbalising
The Visualising and Verbalising Program uses visualisation techniques to develop a child’s comprehension. It also teaches children to make predictions, identify the main ideas, evaluate information and form conclusions.
